Mindful Breathing

& Calm Centering

for Children

ABOUT

Hello, my name is Ann Biese! In this journey of life, I’ve worn many hats - wife, mother, teacher and now, author. I noticed children in my classroom settings who had difficulty concentrating or became frustrated for no apparent reason. To help them cope, I drew from my years of experience as a RCYT yoga teacher and Meditation Therapist. I encouraged them to simply breathe. Yes, breathe.

Proper breathing calms your heart and mind, yet so many children and adults do not breathe correctly. Oftentimes, we miss the opportunity to be relaxed and focused by using our own breath. We teach children to read correctly, but not how to breathe appropriately; yet both are critical life skills. Breathing techniques help children with self-regulation and gives them power over their feelings and impulses.

My passion is supporting children, particularly those with anxiety. My books are a wonderful addition to programs I offer in schools and organizations that work with children. My presentations are geared towards all children, and even adults, because at some point we all worry about something. Through mindful breathing, movement and meditation, we can all learn to de-stress naturally.

I look forward to helping you and your child to just breathe and become more focused and engaged!

“We teach young children to read; why aren’t we teaching them to breathe properly?  Just as reading is a life skill, so is breathing.”
